Cartier men's watch
Cartier men's watch = Cartier Men's Pasha Seatimer Automatic Stainless Steel Watch This is my second Cartier watch. I also own the Roadster, which is nice and sporty. When adding to my collection, I wanted something rounder and dressier, something that would stand out. I made a great choice with the Pasha Seatimer. As the previous review states, it is a heavy watch, but a great size. The combination of the brushed steel sides and band compliment the polished bezel quite nicely. I also went to the Cartier mansion on Fifth Avenue here in NYC to get it sized and they were astounded at how little I had paid for it. Of course, the service was top notch. They even polished my older Roadster at no charge. You can't go wrong with the Seatimer or Cartier. I took it into the Cartier store and had them adjust the watch band length. They treated me just the same as all of the other poor saps who paid 2k more Product Features Swiss Made watch with Cartier Calibre 049 Swiss-automatic movement; Functions without a battery; Powers automatically with the movement of your arms Scratch-resistant-sapphire crystal; Case diameter: 40.5 mm Solid round stainless steel case with stainless steel bracelet Black dial with stylized arabic numerals; Luminous markers and diamond-shaped rhodium-plated hands; Circular crown with screw-down safety feature and black ceramic accent; Unidirectional bezel; Date function between 4 and 5 o'clock Water-resistant to 330 feet (100 M) Renowned worldwide for its high-quality French timepieces, Cartier proves once again it knows how to craft watches that even Poseidon would envy with its men's Pasha Seatimer Automatic watch. The Cartier Story The name Cartier is synonymous with luxury, quality, and style. Founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier, the company became renowned worldwide for its design and production of beautiful jewelry and opulent objets d'art. A royal commission in 1904 made Cartier a supplier to Europe's Crowned Heads of State and led England's King Edward VII to describe Louis Cartier, grandson of the founder, as the jeweler of Kings, the King among jewellers. By the early 20th century, Cartier had expanded its collection to include watches. At a time when pocket watches were still considered de rigueur for the distinguished gentleman, Cartier helped popularize the wristwatch, making it a bold fashion statement for men and women as well as a status symbol among the well-to-do. Louis Cartier is credited with creating the first men's wristwatch, the Santos, in 1904. He developed and named the watch for his client and friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who needed a device that would allow him to read the time without taking his hands off the controls of his airplane. Other classic designs followed, including Cartier's signature timepiece--the Tank--which debuted in 1917 during the First World War and was inspired by the tough new war machine the Americans introduced to the fighting in Europe. Cartier's first water-resistant watch was named after the Pasha of Marrakesh, who requested that Cartier create watch that he could wear while in his swimming pool and not lose track of time. And while it is known more for its luxurious design, Cartier is also credited with creating the highly functional deployment folding clasp in 1910, which is now used by watchmakers around the globe. Modern Cartier watchmakers still base their watch designs on the early fundamentals developed by Louis Cartier. Treasured by collectors, Cartier watches are distinguished by their impressive variety of shapes (round, square, oval, Tank, Tortue and Tonneau), by their exceptional materials and workmanship, and by their recognizable Cartier aesthetic, an elegant blend of classic and modern design. The Cartier watch brand is one of the most recognized luxury trademarks in the world. The name is synonymous with sophistication and luxury design. To truly admire the greatness of their legacy, one should read the history of the grand watch and jewelry Maison. The luxury brand's overbearing presence in the jewelry, fragrance, accessory and watch industry are undeniable evidence of its massive international success. The Cartier Company is a subsidiary of Compagnie Financière Richemont SA. Before 1964, the company was owned and controlled by the Cartier family of French jewelers. The Cartier family was renowned as artists of elaborate jewelry, commissioned by royalty from all corners of the earth. The brilliance of their technique and exotic choice of jewel ensembles created such grand pieces as the "Bestiary" (illustrated by the Panthère brooch in 1940, created for Wallis Simpson,) the diamond necklace that Yadavindra Singh Maharaja of Patiala wore in 1904, and of course the famous Santos wrist watch, made for the Brazillian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont. The company's origins lie in Paris 1847, when young Louis-François Cartier took over his master's workshop. Soon after, the apprentice became one of the most skilled jewelry-artisan of his time. In 1874 son Alfred Cartier took over the company. Although the company basked in success, it was not until Alfred's sons Louis, Pierre and Jacques took the reins of the company, that the Cartier brand would enjoy such international notoriety. In 1899 the company decided to expand internationally. Louis Cartier remained in Paris to control the local branch. He has been credited for some of the most famous Cartier designs such as the "Mystery Clock" and the employment of "Tutti Fruti jewels." In 1907 Cartier rose to the challenge of making the world's first men's wristwatch. The watch was made for the great aviator Santos Dumont, who complained of the impracticality and unreliability of wrist watches. The watch was named after him, and is still in production today. Inspired by the powerful and newly-born war machines of the western front, Louis designed one of the most famous Cartier watch designs of all time. The Tank series debuted in 1917 and has been in production for more than 90 years. In 1920 The Cartier Company formed a joint venture with Edward Jaeger. Jaeger would provide movements for the Cartier time pieces on a contract of exclusivity. This venture and the mass production of Cartier watches with trustworthy, precise movements mark the beginning of Cartier's unstoppable rise to the top of the international watch industry.
